The purpose of this assignment is for everyone to be more aware of your surroundings, including things that are written in English. For your 5% assignment grade, find pictures around town (minimum 7 pictures) with incorrect use of English. Look around the subway, on the bus, or at cafes and restaurants. Anything related to improper use of English is fine. You should try your best to get a variety of samples rather than the same kinds of errors.
Please add the following information with each picture for a class presentation. Have fun!
1. Where was the picture taken? Use exact location.
2. How would you go about getting this sign fixed or who would you tell? (For example, if you saw a sign that was incorrect at a school yard, you would notify the school of the mistake)
3. What is wrong with the use of English in the picture?
4. Anything else you might want to add such as: was it humorous? embarrassing? etc..
