DeleteI watched 3 Idiots DVD during this holiday. 3 Idiots is a 2009 Indian comedy drama film. The main character thought and acted differently. He objected to the existing method of learning like memorizing. The director want to change this tecahing methods, entrance exam, employment . Our country has a similar situation with India. Our tests usually based on memorizing. There is no creativity and critical thinking in our school life.
ReplyDeleteI surprised with this movie. Because it had a lot of musical components. We saw many dances and listened to many musices in this movie.
The main character usually said "All is well". If someting goes wrong, he always calms himself with saying this words. I think this positive character makes him different with common people. It was really funny and touching for me. This movie make me think about our educational situation and my character.

The male character he was called 아무개 in the movie. he is game developer in the movie. so he was very sensitive and he does n’t like to meet people.

Yes There is a older sister supporting the main female. And she fallen love with guys so easily even she is a house wife. I think it was odd

I think It was worthy. because I really concentrate on the movie and acting ability was excellent.

ReplyDeleteI watched Cilvil War. After watching Civil War, people are usually divided into two groups ; those who take Iron Man’side, and those who take Catain America’s side. There is no right and wrong here. The two leaders have their reasons for their actions. Iron Man believes that the Avengers should comply with the regulations that are made by the United Nations. Captain America, on the other hand, thinks that the Avengers should make their own decisions. I think Captain America is right. The Unitied Nations is run by people. Unfortunately, people can be corrupted. The United Nations might give unethical orders to the Avengers. As long as the Avengers can make the best possible decision in a given situation, they are better on their own. Of course, the Avengers should never forget that independence means more responsibility.

ReplyDeleteI watched a movie called 'The Wailing'. It is not just a famous movie, but is a real issue nowadays. The movie takes about 3hours, but feels like an hour actually. It means, you would lost yourself if you watched it.
A genre of the movie is a thriller which is always presented stereotypically with 'monsters'. The wailing is also all about monsters and ghosts. But, something different is that the wailing well-expressed character's psychological fears through physical directions and description of circumstances. More details should be skipped to avoid containing possible spoilers
I think the movie director 'Hongjin-Na' is such a genius. He put his messages, talents and attractions to people into The Wailing. This is the first time I have searched interpretations about the movie that I have already watched. And this is worth of searching it, because, after reading about an interpretation, I am full of his movie in my brain. Anyway, The Wailing is the best movie I have watched in 2015~2016

ReplyDeleteI watched Captain America Civil War with my friends. Movie plot was so simple, Iron Man vs. Captain America. But there was a lot of implications in it. It was not only fight each others group, but also restriction vs. freedom. I think both are very convincing opinion, but freedom is more good way I think. If any association shouldn't guarantee the freedom that group might be puppet for other big association such as, certain country or nations. The movie was nice. Expression was good and computer graphics technology was much better and heroes casting was not change. It was very good because if the casting was change, those movies concentrate very bad. And I saw trailer also when I left in theater. That might be predictable for next movie series. For my sight overall rating for this movie was very good and expect for the next movie.

I watched The Butterfly Effect. It's kind of time slip movie.
These days, there are lots of time slip drama, movies and I think it is basically from the movie 'The butterfly effect'.
After I saw the movie I was so impressed that it was made almost twelve years ago. The story and the technique were not awkward at all.
I got a mind of respect of the writer that made this movie.
When I was young, I have thought about what could have happen if I were born 10 years earlier. I may have not even been born because if it were 10 years before I was born, my parents have not even got married.
I think the writer kind of thought like me when he was young and made this movie. I was so impressed by the way he explained the way to the past. I wonder how he could think of the diary. I would like to recommend this movie to everyone.

ReplyDeleteI want to talk about a movie “Mean Girls” This movie is about high school girls and their school lives. Kady, the main character, is from Africa. She had been home-schooling until she came to America. So she didn’t know what are American teenagers like. On the first day, she made some friends who are not really normal. One was a gay and the other was kind of lesbian. They told her about ‘Plastic’ which is a group of popular girls and suggested her to join Plastic. So Kady joined there and changed into one of them. But in the end she realized it’s not good and came back to her life.
I think the producer of this movie tried to say ‘being yourself is the best way for your life’. No matter you adorn yourself, your nature will never be changed. In case of Kady, she dressed like a prostitute and did a make-up. But in the end she became the way she had used to.
There are some stereotypes in this movie. Girls in this movie are regarded as stupid and only cares about their appearances. And they slander each others. For example, Regina, one of the Plastic, talks behind the other girls. To her friend, she said she likes her friends skirt but behind the back, she said that skirt reminds grandma or something. In real world they don’t. I feel sorry for this movie to make these kind of stereotypes.
Also, this movie shows that asian girls uncivilized. Asian girls in this movie talked like ching chang chong and they slept an old gym teacher. I don’t like this part. It make a stereotype that the asian girls are slut. If the producer of this movie added an asian girl to the Plastic, it would be better.
I liked that the supporters of Kady are gay and lesbian. Most supporter of movies is straight and kind. But not in this movie and I liked it.

This movie 'Birdman' means the movie title where the main actor was starred in the past. He was a hero of Marvel series movies and very popular. However, now he retired from the hero movie and is eager to gain his feet again in the other part, ‘a play in Broadway’. As we start in the new field, we can't avoid facing some kinds of trials. The actor in the movie also faces various problems: troubles with other actors and actress while preparing the new play, money problems, conflicts with his ex-wife and so on. Through the actor, this movie tells us the story that life is not easy for any of us. People say that the heart of a person is very crafty. The main actor can't depart from the saying. He worries too much about his life that he faces. In that sense, he is often reminded of his glorious past such as the action hero. He sometimes confuses his current life with his past. For example, he follows the ghost shaping and voicing 'the birdman' who he acted in the past movie. Of course, if we live with our victorious past, it would be nice. But we have to admit that it is impossible. Unfortunately, the lifetime of a victory is very short. People welcome and give a big hand to a victory, but after for a while they forget it and follow a new victory. The best way to get over it is that we are required to be get used to saying fellow to familar things like the past glory. Then it would more easy to try a new field than before.

The movie that i have chosen is"English Vinglish."
It is a 2012 Indian comedy drama film. It stars the famous actress Sridevi as the main lead. Having female oriented films is rare but is a new emerging direction in Bollywood.
The movie shows that the main lead who is a housewife is not well versed in speaking english and how she feels insecure when her daughter of english background makes fun of her. Then she goes to New York to attend her niece's wedding.We can relate with her as to how she feels being in a different country alone with language as a barrier and how difficult it was for her to even order a coffee there. Later on she joins an english class and there she makes friends, gains confidence,learns to speak english and begins to feel good about herself again. I really like this movie and appreciate the director for her work as it is something different from the usual movies. The supporting leads also acted very well, and i felt each of them were an essential part of the film.
The movie sends across a message to not be judgemental and not to take your mother or others around you for granted. After i finished watching this movie i was so overwhelmed that i called my mom and thanked her for everything she has done for me and given me. And i was really glad that i always respected my parents and never felt ashamed of them for not being able to speak english.
This film makes you appreciate your family and your relationship, it shows that if you feel good abut yourself then you will like and appreciate all you have rather then looking for something new. All age people can watch it and relate to it in some way. Overall it was a fun movie with good cinematography and songs. I would recommend everyone to watch this movie.

ReplyDeleteI saw “zootopia”. The story that little rabbit, Judy, has been the first rabbit police officer in zootopia highlights importance of trying hard and prejudice.
I got the lesson that prejudice can cloud our judgement.
The movie characters are all animals. But characters’ personalities are not related to the stereotype that we have about animals. For example, the main character, Judy, is a cute female rabbit. But she is tough, adventurous and independent. The supporting role of the main character is a male fox. They find a criminal together and love each other.
This movie has reversal so I can’t predict the end easily. The bad role that plotted against zootopia is a sheep who was very kind and nice to Judy.
I think story is somewhat normal but the background and character description is very detailed. So I was very impressive. I recommend this movie to my friends.

I first read it by a book. My society teacher recommended to me when I was in China.
In brief, the movie is about some society issues, friendship, legendary stories and the growing period of adolescents.
First, this movie starts by showing a place called Camp Green Lake. Then they show a boy named Stanley Yelnats and the accident that makes Stanley to go to the Camp Green Lake.
Camp Green Lake is a place for guilty adolescents to dig a big hole each day for their crimes. As they are digging the holes the boys are meeting new events and incidents. This movie shows the clues for the various events by showing present events and past events together.
This movie is a little bit complicated but it makes me to think a lot about the story. The important thing that I have learned by watching this movie is if I do something right now, no matter what it will affect my future. Therefore I thought that I have to be more conscious about my behavior and I have to spend my time more worthily.

The movie was kind of disappointing. Maybe, it's because I expected too much. I hope there are more action scenes. And also the stories are not satisfied. I think Captain America : Winter soldier is better. Captain America : Civil War is more like Avengers 2.5.
Captain America is the main character of the movie but I can't understand Captain America’s behavior. There was not much explanation about Steve Rogers, not the hero Captain America.
Even though Winter Soldier is his old best friend and he did bad things because Hydra brainwashed him, I think Captain America went too far.
I think that Captain America’s behavior that protecting Bucky from the government, is because of his faith. But the last scene, hitting Iron Man to death, it’s all because to protect Bucky. I hope there’s more explanation between Steve Rogers and Bucky.
And also I can’t understand why they don't talk about the problem. Captain America could say to Tony Stark that Bucky is not the real criminal and he killed his father because he was brainwashed by Hydra at that time.
About the female characters, I hope female characters to be more independent and rounded character. Black Widow was great. I think she’s the most reasonable character in the movie, but there was not enough time to see her. I think Black Widow should get her own solo movie in the near future. Wanda seems like she doesn’t have her own thoughts and just controlled by adults. I know that she’s a teenager, but that part was little bit disappointing.
Overall, I think I'm not going to recommend my friends to go watch this movie.

ReplyDeleteMovie I saw was Revenant,just like the title it self, it's about a man who survived from near death injury and finding revenge for his son's death. The movie was bit boring than it's reputation, I was thinking about more aggressive and dynamic actions from it, but it was more about very raw instinct of human being. By the way, I believe DiCaprio showed his full ability to blend into his role again, and also Tom Hardy was so amazing that I couldn't even noticed that it was him. Supposedly, director must have tried to express how human mind can change impossible to possible by it's motivation. During the movie, after the fighting scene with bear, only thing that kept DiCaprio straight was his parenthood. Later on from other scenes, parenthood and vengeance made two rivalry race as friend. Actually whole movie was about vengeance from different view. Probably message it was trying to send was about "Don't mess with someone's family" or "When you feel like dying, try to think of someone to take revenge on", that's how movie was simple. Since it only concentrated on revenge, it was kind of boring. Anyway, if I would have to suggest this movie to someone, only reason would be "because DiCaprio finally got the Oscar form this movie".

ReplyDeleteI watched The Pride and Prejudice and Zombies last week. A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in Jane Austen's classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield. So this is all about the movie's story. I expected the movie would carry some messages such as feminism, humanism or bla bla bla... but it was just about the Zombies and Heroins. It never really succeeds at any. The acting is fine. I particularly liked Lily James as Elizabeth Bennet. Matt Smith was also a highlight as Mr. Collins. The comedy works in a couple of scenes, but mostly fails. The gore isn't that great. But the movie is PG-13, so what was I expecting. The film's plot sticks to the Pride and Prejudice storyline, but just inserts zombies in it. The zombie part didn't fit well in the storyline. Both parts were fine, but they didn't fit well together. The ending is very poor. It gets very boring and very generic. Overall, this is a bad mix of comedy and horror. The film's premise got old very fast. I was very disappointed.
The movie that I have chosen is ‘Inside Out’. I think the producer was trying to teach us to stay positive and project happiness and also teach children and adults to really understand each emotion (happy, sad, anger, disgust, etc) clearly. I think Riley’s family is stereotyped. Specifically, about how the mother is a typical “sitcom” mom who is in touch with her emotions, while the dad is distracted by sports and is inattentive. The supporting role consists of both male and female, I find it a bit sexist as sadness, joy, disgust are females and anger, fear, and bing bong are males. The movie was very predictable as Pixar movies always, most certainly end in happily ever after form. I really did enjoy the movie as I did not have to think while watching, the movie just dragged me with it. I really would not change anything as I thought it was good.

ReplyDeleteI am big fan of the marvel movies. Especially I am huge fan of Iron man. That is why I was excited that new movie civil war came out. During the movie, I felt so sad because of Iron man's position. Tony lost his girlfriend, close friend(Captain America), friend's legs. At this movie, tony saw how his parents died. Of coure, Bucky was manipulated by Hydra. But anyway I cannot imagine tony's feeling about it. I don not understand why this movie made tony has to having a hard time. Without him, the whole marvel superhero story would not go on. He is mechanic, he made avengers's weapons, Jarvis(Vision), support Avengers's base.
In this movie, lots of new characters showed up. A glad thing was african american heros came on this movie. But still, shero superhero character was only two of them. Two of them are caucasian. Yesterday I saw X-men. That movie had a lot of shero characters. One is african american woman and the other was asian mixed-blood woman. In that movie, one of shero character has super power more than anyone. I felt so excitied seeing that movie. I expect new avengers movie will be different than before like X-men.

After watching cilvil war, I enjoyed so much, I searched all about civil war. In youtube, I saw video title 'Captain america is the best superhero.'
As I said, I am super fan of Iron man. I felt kind of insulted as tony's fan, so I clicked it. But turns out, video's contents was so amazing! I amazed the man's approach in video! I wanted to spread this fun video to my classmates.

ReplyDeleteI watched 'The Truman Show' in my house.
The movie plot was very interesting. The main character's (Truman Burbank) life is aired for 24 hours. From his birth to marriage, everything that he experiences is totally 'set up show' even his family, friends, and wife. The show is filmed in 'Island Sea heaven' that is also filming site.
One day truman begins to suspect his life and people around him. So he decided to escape from Isand. Even though he has a phobia of water, he made a boat to escape and the boat had sailed for few days. However the show director started to make artificial rain to stop him. But truman achieved success finally and came out to 'real world'
The movie made feel very important things. 'Freedom that is made by myself is more important than easy life.' He could keep his life comfortable forever. However truman decides his happiness himself and stand out to real world.
I always look for the easiest way and fixed life these days. Truman taught me to challenge the adversity around me.

ReplyDeleteI watched a movie called 'Me Before You' with my friend. It's decribing a beautiful and unfortunate love story between a man whose body is paralyzed by an car accident and a woman who is always cheerful and do anything to earn money for her family. Will is living day by day just longing to die because he cannot admit this hopelessness situation who previously was a very charming and various field talented man. And he meets a lovely girl, Louisa who takes care of him for work. And they slowly fall in love. So Louisa thinks she can stop him from mercy killing, but he ended up choosing to die.
As I watched this movie, I thought Louisa really could stop his death by making his everyday life very happy and energetic. So at first, I couldn't accept Will's death just like Louisa, I even hated his decision. But now I think I can understand him. I can't even imagine how desperate he would feel sitting in his wheelchair thinking of his past wonderful life. Compare to his uneasy life, I felt like I am living a very happy and lucky life. The movie made me be thankful for what I've got and live life well.
