  1. Topic: Is lie only good or only bad?

Related to unit2, I did some researches about social lies. One research says that we tell lies constantly, at least once a day even if it’s conservatively estimated. Researchers have recently found that some fibbing might be actually necessary and good. The psychologist Robert Feldman from University of Massachusetts said that we use lies to grease the wheels of social discourse, and it’s socially useful to tell lies.
Some researchers have been studying about the reason why we tell lies. It turned out that we make up fiction and distort facts for many different reasons. For example, to gain a raise, protect family or themselves and etc. The capacity of how much we can lie is considered endless, and we even tell lies to ourselves.
Experts say that small lies actually can have positive psychological effects. For example, positive biases about the self can be beneficial because it is self-fulfilling. Also, the research suggests that people who tend to deceive themselves feel happier than those who do not.
Even though lies are common phenomenon among all people, and it sometimes can be beneficial, I still think it’s immoral and bad. Many people tend to think that small lie, or lies that do not affect others badly aren’t that wrong. But how big the lie is doesn’t really matter. What’s important is just the fact weather you are telling lies or not.
As I said above, I do think lies are bad, but sometimes, if it’s a lie to care about others, not for my benefit, I think it’s okay. I think bad lies are limited to only when being selfish. What do you guys think about it?

    1. Hi I am Juliana! I think just like you. I think white lies to protect someone is good. But though it's a white lie, I think it shouldn't be repeated again and again. Because sometimes a person who lies might think it's a white lie but for others this can be seen as just a LIE. So I think people should lie as little as possible!

    2. Hello! I'm Sophia. I agree white lies to myself are effective to fulfill my dream and get a confidence. I also think not telling a whole things are good at both me and others but it should have limits that do not distort the reality.

I think a lie is seasoning. We don't have to use it, but it decorates sentences beautifully. It's also same with seasoning that too much lies can spoil the words.

I kept thinking about what topic would be relevant to unit4 Personality and Life so I want you to recommend a movie, Face off, which is directed by John Woo in 1997. The story of movie is about a FBI agent (Sean Archer), whose face was changed with a terrorist (Castor Troy) for accomplishing a secret mission. Sean had no choice but changed his face with him because Caster was in coma and his youner brother in jail only knew where the bomb is hidden. All he(Sean) had to do was to contact with him in jail and to get the imformation about the bomb, but while he was doing the secret mission, Caster woke up and behaved as if he had been Sean Archor. The similar way that Caster did, Sean behaved himself like Caster to avoid a doubt. The reason that I recommend this movie is you can see that the just same man get totally different personality and life living style. These characters were acted by John Travolta(Sean Archer) and Nicolas Cage(Caster Troy). It means if you once watch this movie, you would feel excited and satisfied on that.

If you have a question or any comment about my writing, please feel free to ask or write down your thinking. Thanks.

It would have been really hard time for Sean to be changed totally differently. But sadly he didn't have choice :( What do you think about Sean? Do you think his life would be better if he had choice about faceoff and refuse to do it?

    3. Hello! I'm Sophia. I also want to watch that movie. I think it's little similar with Kagemusha. I heard that Kim Jung-il that the before head of North Korea had Kagemusha that looked very similar and had almost same feature, action and habit. I think he always felt danger so he hide and let his Kagemusha act and move. It is very interesting material.

It's awesome and well-made movie!

Today I want to talk about homeschooling. Have ever heard about homeschooling? In the dictionary homeschooling means to teach children at home instead of sending them to school. These days many parents want to give freedom to their children. And I agree with this idea because I want to give different education to my child. Also, there are many great benefits to homeschooling. First, homeschooling offers a great deal of freedom, especially educational leeway. The homeschooling students can choose what they specifically learn and when they study. Students can focus on the subject that more exciting, whether that is science, language or may be sports. Second, homeschooling offers physical experience. Without the strict schedule of school hours, homework and school trips, families have a lot of time for vacation at odd times, visit museums during the week and other such activities. It makes life so much easier. Additionally, homeschooling offers emotional freedom. Students often experience troubles with bullies, peer pressure, boredom and competition. In a homeschool environment, these factors are eliminated. Students are able to think, dress and act the way that they want, even raise the self-esteem. For those reasons I recommend homeschooling.

    1. Hello, I'm JIN. I generally agree with your opinion especially homeschooling will give children a freedom, but I was little worried about the aspect of getting along with friends. I don't know how the homeschooling has been done in other countries, it is true that it isn't widely accepted in Korea so if their children is studying or doing other things in home I think there are not enough chance to get along with their peers. What do you think about it?

    2. Hello! I'm Sophia. I have heard about homeschooling and I also know the good effect of homeschooling. They can develop their creativity and feel free. However, I think kids need friends. If children do not go to school and study at home, they would hardly get along with friends. Children should socialize with same age group.

    3. Hello. I'm Bella. Of course, There are many great benefits to home schooling. Good thing about home education is that you can spend lots of time with your child. However, home schooling has proven to be controversial. If you choose to home-school, maybe your child feel lonely. your child can't easily hang out with same age friends. Child need to increase an ability of interacting with same friends. And home schooled children are socialized differently than public schooled children.

Due to unit 4, we learnt about how to cope with stress. And these days, I read a book names ‘Anger’ written by the monk Thich Nhat Hanh by chance. Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnamese monk who is one of the symbolic person in Buddhism. He wrote a book how to calm the anger. So I’d like to write a short summary about it. The main topic of this book was if you let off steam, then your life will become better. He said when you are angry at someone then tell something to him, you would hurt him definitely so you’d better not say anything and just breathe deeply. Also, he said if you can’t let off steam by yourself, you are not going to be happy due to your anger so you should think positively by talking by yourself. But this doesn’t only mean to endure your anger. It means to let off steam and solve the problem wisely. But as a normal people, it is really hard to let off steam wisely. Especially these days there are too many problems happen to people. So this can be really hard to do at first. But I think we have to try hard to reduce our stress and solve problems wisely.

If so, can you tell me just one way how to let off steam easily?

    3. Hi Jin and BPH! Thank you very much for you comments! I do get mad at something and take it out on my family! And regret doing it every time :( So these days I am trying hard to breath deeply for 3 times before I say something or mad at something. If I breath deeply for 3 times, I can think about the problems one more time which helps me to relieve my sudden madness. This is quite common method of relieving stress but this really helps! It might be difficult to do at first, (actually it was quite hard for me to try) but you are going to feel familiar with this later!

  5. How could I relieve stress? (relevant Unit04)

There are some ways that people can relax their condition both physically and mentally. Some people feel relax and comfortable when they go to a famous restaurant and eat delicious foods and sweets. Other people tend to be alone at home and watch TV or a movie in quite mood. However, when it comes to me, when I got stressed, I usually go on a vacation and relax. And that vacation means going abroad. Of course I cannot travel via air plane every time I want to relax, so at that time, I meet my close friends on weekend and talk about what they experienced during the weekdays.
Anyway, when I am traveling, I can relax and relieve my stress. To be specific, I do not need to be concerned about anything such as exam or part time job. Also, I can recover my energy as well. I am a workaholic when I am in Korea, but I can stop to smell the roses in other countries. I recommend doing this especially for students because they only have some free time twice a year, during the summer and winter vacation. If students go somewhere, they can stop worrying about the future for a while, and learn to live in the present, they will find their life-balance.
Therefore, I want to recommend going journey to others who have outgoing personality and are getting much stress these days. If they have time to smell the roses during the journey or if they can make a time to talk with their friends, it would be better for their mental health. I am sure they will relax and relieve.

    Why sport players need practice?

Many sport players have talents. It's obvious that players need to have talents for their survival.
Every year and year lots of young talented players coming out. With only talents, old players can't beat young players because young players physical abilities are better than old players. There are several ways to compete with young players and maintain their position. It can be downgrade their levels and move their team. But most of old players take this method, continuous practice. They always train their physical abilities and skills. Some players have tremendous talent that don't need to practice. With Ronaldinho, it can be explain. Ronaldinho was a superstar on 2000s. In his glory days, no one can stop him. This situation continue 5 years, he conceited his talent and didn't practice well, his glory days ended soon. The other way Ryan Giggs always practice and manage himself strict, he could appear premier league for more than 20 years.
There were similar players like Ronaldinho. I can realize someone who has talent but don't practice well, their talents don't last forever. Continous practice can maintain their talents and their jobs. While search this players, I feel I have to practice more than last although I can speak with assurace that I am better than others.

    2. I kind of agree with you that practice is essential, but sometimes it seems that inborn talent is more important. Everyone has their own good ability, but in some part people don't really get to do things better than talented ones no matter how hard they practice.

  7. Pension reform issues in South Korea / 201332256 BPH

Pension reform currently has emerged as a hot potato in South Korea. Why it involves multiple perspectives on pension reform plan? The reason is largely because the position of the government side to cut pension payments and the other position of citizens, compulsorily assign a pension as a tax, who are later get paid are sharply opposed.

National Pension is a system that guarantees a constant retirement income if the normal workers lost a source of income due to diseases or retirement. That is the most reliable retirement income security system than any other private pension systems or savings banks. However, the current system of Korea's national pension is immature scheme cause it practiced only for the sixteen years. So there is no denying that the drastic pension reforms are needed. Despite the fact that Korea's National Pension Service has aimed to the income redistribution by giving priority to the lower income classes, most low-income families can not expect the practical effect of income redistribution according to the official statistics from the Ministry of Health showing that the proportion of mid to low income classes who got monthly more than 1 million won or less than 2 million won is 60.7%, versus high income clases who got monthly more than 4 million won is 96.6%. Therefore, the blind spots of current National Pension scheme are deserved to be supplemented.

However, this doesn’t mean that the government has a reasonable ground to cut the money of the people’s for the reasons of aging, low birthrates and lack of funds. European countries, conducting national pension schemes for over 100 years, already gone through such issues of Korea -aging, low birthrates and lack of funds. The biggest feature among them is that the actual payment rate is higher than korea. Greece provides up to 100.8% of the already paid average monthly income and Luxembourg is a 91% degree – South korea is up to 40%. The reason why their schemes were possible is that they use the fund as pay-as-you-go scheme rather than a fund saving approach, which made a big difference between European scheme to Korean’s in the payment rate. As in the case of Germany which made a pension reform, although the German government has cut down pension rates, it also ensures benefits and security in private pensions. Korea, On the other hand, has a pension scheme that the next generation bears the previous generations’ pension that the does not solve any problem of aging, low birthrate and lack of funds as flexible as these European countries.

European countries have compromised based on current trends through raising age standard of pension not compromising on pension rates. But this solution is not a universal bullet. There is a risk that raising age standard will result in youth unemployment. Measures to increase private insurance are also at risk for citizens to face numerous undue treatments. Therefore, when the government try to reform one thing must also consider other derivatives and broad social issues.

As such, the current problem of Korean Pension system is complex, but the urgency has a clear priority. It is most urgent issue for the Korean government to resolve the poverty of the retired ages, and then have to solve the blind spot of pension system by taking care of low income classes. In the long term, it should relieve the burden on future generations, increasing the sustainability of the scheme. For the people of Koera, it is important to well aware of the pension problems by themselves and keep an eye on the government's motion.

The problem of Korean pension system is not a simple problem. To change pension system, we must change tax system because the tax makes the pension move properly. Many countries where have good pension system have also good tax system which is reasonable. So I think we have to change the tax system first before fixing the pension system.

  8. Animal testing - 201234792 Soyoon Yoon [Bella]

As most of you are aware, for many centuries people have experimented on animals. Animal testing has always been an important issue. There are two main reasons for doing this. First, to find out more about the animals themselves. Secondly, to test the animals to see if they are harmful with a view to deciding whether or not they can be used on human beings.

Other people tend to look at animal testing differently. Should humans do scientific experiments on animals? I feel that experimenting on animals is wrong. Animal testing must be removed.

Is it morally acceptable to continue with animal testing when the test subjects are unable to defend themselves or give their consent? An animal life and a human life are of equal value. Doing scientific experiments on animals is inhumane. It is selfish mind that animal testing addresses human suffering.

Animal testing can never completely reflect the human condition. Many times the unreliability of animal research has produced highly unpredicted results. According to the FDA, 92 percent of drugs that pass animal trials fail during human clinical trials. In fact, most animal experiments are done on mice that shares none of the characteristics of human beings.

I think that modern technology can replace all animals testings at this time. We need to develop the alternatives to testing on animals. A new alternative such as developed machine may save thousand of animals from the cruel experiment.

    3. Hello, It's Mica. I object to experiments on animals. A number of cosmetic companies have been accused recently of testing their products on animals, which often causes debilitating health problems or death. 4. Hello! I'm Lucy:) I totally agree with you. We need to reduce animal testing. Also, animals and humans are never exactly the same. There is the argument that the reaction of a drug in an animal's body is quite different from the reaction in a human. I think it should be changed:(

  9. We usually say ‘I’m angry.’ are ‘She is so angry.’ Actually, the ‘anger’ includes humiliated feeling, belittling oneself and desperation. These things combine together and turn to anger or rage. That sensitive and emotional stuffs make person can’t communicate with others well.
According to research, There are some reasons that people get angry. People continuously keep their bad emotion in mind to hide what they are feeling from other people. But at last, those emotions explode. And some of people believe what they show about anger to others is effective and efficient way to persuade other people. Getting angry or showing one’s anger seem like efficient tool to achieve their purposes and deliver their emotions. But consequently most of those problems, people still can’t control their anger and explode it out.
Then what should we do for controlling out emotional things; the anger? First of all we need practices to design our ‘anger’. It should be started since our youth age. The age of five to six, They start to develop their emotional recognition. So from that age, people should learn how to control and design their emotion. When you have bad feeling, keep thinking about why you are getting angry. After finding your sources of anger, think how to reduce that sources’ amount or sources. Then you do what you should do. This is what designing your anger is. Don’t worry even if you did not those trainings when you were youth. Adults have abilities or power to make their waves of emotion in peace. But adults do feel don’t need to. So adults should indicate perfectly that showing their anger doesn’t help anything and exploding their anger makes problems about relationships. Think about sources of your anger and think again about effects or outcome that if you lose your temper. If you think losing your temper is going to make big problems, just make your waves in peace.
Stability doesn’t come easily. You need some emotion control tools. Think. Face to your emotions. Objectify your emotions. Keep practicing to turn your annoyance or irritation to positive things. Then you can be in peace.

    Good stress and bad stress
Does stress always result in bad outcomes? A Canadian endocrinologist Selye, who first came with the word ‘stress’ classified stress into ‘good stress’ and ‘bad stress’. He said that good stress help improving one’s life consequently and bad stress cause nerve and depression.

Then, what can we do to make stress as good stress? An American psychologist Lazarus said that stress is defined as good stress or bad stress by the person’s cognition. When cause of stress occurs, it is appraised if it is bearable or not.

So I recommend you to plan what you can bear, but not too easy. Too easy assignments make you become idle and too difficult assignments make you depressed. Proper amount of assignments will work as good stress and help you be more energetic and passionate.

  14. Topic: Some tips for reducing anger(unit4) -201131319 Somin Kang(mica)

These days people are exposed to much anger. They express anger easily and they don't know well how to deal with anger. It'd be nice if we keep our temper, but that's impossible. Thus it's important to know how to address anger. I want to say about some tips for reducing anger.
first, you should understand that anger is a problem and you should monitor your anger. Anger is a problem because it is an ineffective way of operating in the social world, can occasionally backfire, and ultimately ruins relationships. So it's helpful to take a detached 'observer stance' with regard to your anger.
Second, You should feel the anger and not do it again. I think expressing anger is also important. It's the healthiest and most natural way to deal with it, But you should do wisely. You learn how to make clear what your needs are, and how to get them met without hurting others.
Thirdly, you should think like a scientist not a lawyer. Taking a scientific explaining approach rather than a moralistic blaming one makes people's behavior more understandable and as a consequence easier to influence. And of course once you understand the causes of a behavior, there's nothing left to get angry about.
Lastly, you shouldn't focus on yourself. Sometimes people use anger as a means to beat themselves into the dirt, then that'll only harm their self-esteem, eventually bringing up depression or anxiety. I'm aware nearly every person fell to the habit of becoming more angry than they initially wanted. So don't do that. It's not healthy to release anger.
That's all I want to say. And I'd like to exchange views on my topic. What do you guys think about it?

    4. Hi, this is Juana(김효경). thanks for your information and I think in my case, I have to learn to spend time for a while without speaking when I feel anger. Especially when I have a trouble with my parents or friends, If I have a time to relax and arrange my thinking, I would calm down and speak well

The Korea government must change the attitude toward the CEO of major companies. Cho hyun-ah, a heroine who did nut-rage, got probation for two years. It was very unfair because returning airplane without permission can be sentenced one to ten years of imprisonment.

Actually Cho hyun-ah is not only case that CEO sentenced less compared common people. Also they easily got an amnesty. The government said ‘We grant CEOs amnesty because they worked hard for the Korea’. It’s very ridiculous reason because most CEO’s crimes are white-collar crime which is related to dirty money like bribe or their secret fund. Other countries grant more responsibility to CEOs. I think the government should apply more strict rules like any other countries, not the free ticket for crime.

    1. Hello, I'm JIN. When I heard that news that Cho hyun-ah wouldn't be sentenced by the law, I also felt disappointed about the government and court. Its sentence seemed that it's all okay if you had a lot of money or CEO. I was very impressed about your opinion and it's just my curiosity, is there any case that CEO or other executives are sentenced by the law because of their misbehavior? If it is existed, please tell me.

    2. Hi Sang ho, it's BPH. I've read all of your post and thought it was very reasonable because the benefits for the rich have always been an issue for the general publics in Korea. I, as one of the ordinary citizens, think that even more stirct criteria should be applied to the rich since they have a role of leader, leading a number of people and the flows of economy. So, in your case, can you tell me what kind of reason gave it a validity to apply more stringent standards to the rich?

    3. I think it's natural and common thing in Korea. Economic growth of Korea has been jumped by many huge companies like H group or S group. So there is special legal environment for those companies. And those weird huge-companies-friendly environment continues to even now.

Small and big issus come out in short time in Korea. This is not limited in congress. So we must have critical think and have interset out counrty.

    6. Hi, this is Claire. It was really interesting topic. Did you heard that the stewardess who served macadamia nut to Jo Hyunah sued her in USA? I heard that it's because they have 'punitive damage'. It's a law to compensate much more than the real damage when it's malicious. Experts say that in USA, she can get more than ten times than in Korea. I think these kind of law might help preventing recurrence of crime.

    The Reality of Campus Newspaper

As computer and internet developed, the popularity of ‘paper’ newspaper has decreased. In addition, the quality of campus newspaper cannot be compared with original newspaper. Students turned their face away about campus news.

People and students think campus newspaper is not professional and not important. In my case, I have worked in Gachon press for 3 years. I also have worry that our newspaper lost critical function. Noy only Gachon university but also other universities are not free from own editorial rights. Professors and university employ give us little silent pressure about the topic of newspaper. However, I think newspaper should include and cover the dissatisfaction of people about issue. Gachon news also have to cover the problem of student about the regulation of drinking, smoking and festival.

Samyuk university and Seoul Women’s university faced suspending publication. University and student. They are not at the same position. I will endeavor to get our own editorial rights. I will participate at the meeting of university reporter, try to find the solution and enforce the networking with them. I think these are the ways of gaining power of campus newspaper.

    1. Hi Sophia it's BPH. Your writing really explained well about a problem that many universities are facing now. I feel it bad just like you because I know that it is difficult to maintain political neautrality and freedom of speech on school's newspaper. It's due to a trait of university, constraint of space. But students' right to know is also important. So I'm proud of you trying to overcome this obstacle. Is there any progress in this matter?

    2. Hi Sophia It's Mica. I read the report about Seoul Women's university through Internet before. And I was surprised and shocked about the university's action. I wonder about the student's meeting. If it's possible, after attending the meeting I want you to share the meeting.

    3. Hi Sophia. This is Claire. I agree with you about the idea that professors give you pressure about the topics of the newspaper. I found that the newspaper spends most of pages advertising how nice our university is. I hope you to find the solution.

Few months ago, Seo Jeong-hee, the retired actress sued her husband Seo Se-won, who is a famous comedian, for abusing her for a long time. They have been married for 32 years and she was been abused for her entire married life. Also, Kim Ju-ha, who was a successful anchorwoman for MBC, filed a suit for divorce because of domestic violence. These news were very shocking for everyone because those two women are beautiful and wealthy, and everyone believed that they were having successful married lives.

The domestic violence happens to everyone. All races, all religion, all income and education level. It is everywhere. We should break the stereotype of the victims. Everyone thinks that domestic violence happens to women and it is women's issue. But that is not always true. Over 85 percent of abusers are men, and domestic abuse happens only in intimate, interdependent, long-term relationships. Like families.

A family is the most fundamental community that we need for maintaining life. Sometimes it is considered as a shelter to get rid of stress from outside. When a family loses its function because of several problems including domestic violence, social anxiety like crime or deviant behavior can be increased. Almost 70 percent of violent crimes like murder, rape, robbery are occurred by family discords, so this is not just family problems but problems of whole society. In fact, domestic violence is considered as a private problem for a long time in Korea. I think it is because of the Confucian social atmosphere that considers mentioning family problems as a taboo.

    1. Hi, this is Juana(김효경). I agree with your opinion that the family is the most fundamental community that we need for maintaining our life. So it must be warm and safe. So I was very shocked and angered when I listened the news of Seo Jeong-hee.
However, family is also a part of really private things, so it is hard to intervene. I think the system relevant to violence should be revised..

    2. HI, this is Claire. I cannot agree with the idea that Koreans think domestic violence as a private problem. I think the problem is in law, not in people's common view. Even if the neighbor call the police because he/she thought there's something worng, police cannot do anything if there is no evidence or the victim say that he/she hadn't hit by the assailant. I think the law have to be changed.

  19. Domestic violence is, according to ‘Special Act for the punishment of Domestic Violence’, actions accompanying the members of family’s physical, mental or property damage. According to the Department of Female and Young Person of Korean National Police Agency’s statistical record about crime rate of domestic violence, domestic crime rate is consistently increasing. There were 8,762 cases in 2012, 16,785 cases in 2013, 17,557 cases in 2014. Last year, more than 69 women were murdered by husband and 95 women were almost killed by husband. A survey of married women showed that about 48 percent of married women had experienced domestic violence at least once during their marriage, but only 1.3 percent of them had asked the police for help. Another report of domestic violence by the Korean Women’s Development Institute found that the most notable feature when a domestic violence occurred was not taking any action. About the reasons, 40.5 percent of them said ‘just wanted to pass the moment’, 32.8 percent said ‘because he is my family’, 19.5 percent said ‘it is embarrassing and hurting pride’. This report shows it is common thought that considering domestic violence as a family trouble and the victim has to endure everything for the peace of the family. But it is obvious that the domestic violence is criminal act. And if we neglect the abusing, it will be repeated periodically, habitually, and consistently. Also, there is another serious problem. Domestic violence could be passed down. A lot of abusers are found that they had experienced domestic violence while growing up.

Everybody asks this question, "Why doesn't she just leave?" The victims say this is the saddest and most painful question. The answer of the question is, because it is very dangerous to leave an abuser. Because the final step in domestic violence pattern is to kill her. Over 70 percent of domestic violence murders happen after the victim had ended the relationship. Because then the abusers have nothing left to lose. And still we ask, "Why doesn't she just leave?"
Support from people around the victim is essential for her to end the violent relationship safely. The climate that disregarding the violence lets the suffering victims die. The victim of domestic violence should break the silent and ask police and the people around her for help. And we must be concerned about her so that she can leave the perpetrator. Abusing thrives only in silence. We have to shine the spotlight on the scene of the violence.

Related to Unit 4, I want to talk about why Koreans got stressed more easily than Westerners. Due to the 2010 research about "Happiness index" among OECD countries, Korea was the lowest country among them. Netherlands Finland got the highest points.
Then, what makes us different to them ? Why Koreans got more stress and doesn't feel they are happy ?
I think the first reason is that Koreans tend to compare with others.
For example, Few months ago, there were murder case in Seocho dong. He kills his wife and two daughters. His cause of the murder was financial problem but he even have apartment in Seocho. The real cause of the crime was comparison poverty. He graduated from prestige university and his friends seems to be happy except him so he lose his hope for his life. Like this, Many Korean parents tend to compare their children with others. But I think it is not the right way to live our own life. Other people can affect your hapiness but they doesn't decide your hapiness. If you kow that, then your Stress might got decreased.
Next, One way competition. In Korea, there are much stress about grades. For example, there are suicide each day after "Korea Scholastic Aptitude Test". The reason of suicide is that they feel they are useless if they didin't do well in test. Most Koreans want to go to prestige university even if there are much things to do although they didin't get accepted to renown university.
So, I think we need to realize happy dosen't come from others but from your inner self.

    1. Hi, this is Juana(김효경). I agree with your opinion and when it comes to me, the reason that we are more competitive with each other than other countries is because of our social structure. Our counrty has developed rapidly, and in that process, we have to compete with each other to develop ourselves. Furthermore, nowadays, the unemployment rate has been increased, so the competition in our countries is also become harder.

    2. I totally agree with you two, Jenny and Juana. Like what Juana said, the unemployment rate is keep increasing. Companies lessen job occupations and they want people with high spec. Thus students get stressed to get higher score but even if all the students did great job, professors cannot give them all A. They should grade a curve. And It's not that different in other fields. If you are not better that your collegue, you might get failed.
