Have you ever sat in front of the breakfast table looking at your dad's unshaven face? How often do you say "I love you" to your parents?
Recently I watched a movie named 'Frozen River'. It was awarded the grand jury prize at the Sundance Film Festval in 2008. The film apparently takes a woman's crime for livelihood seriously. It, meanwhile, has a deeply touching & warm-hearted story on the other side of it. I saw the acting of the main actress- Melissa Leo with bated breath from start to finish. I lost myself in the brilliance of her eyes. It was outstanding performance!
While surfing the web to check 'Behind the scene' of the film, I kept up with a tragedy about another main actress- Misty Upham. Her eyes closed upon the world a few months ago. Police said she was suspected of having committed suicide. But her dad didn't trust the police announcement. The news showed she had suffered from maniac depressive psychosis. I do pray for the repose of her soul. Her acting was also brilliant.
Through this film, I thought about life & poverty deeply. And I also thought about being of mom. 'Frozen River' will be long remembered in my heart.

    1. No, I've not seen this movie but it sounds like the movie was very moving. When little things such as a movie make such a huge impression, it leaves an everlasting impression for us to ponder about life. I wonder if the message behind why the movie was made was properly portrayed as being successful. We do live in the grey area all too often as life isn't clearly black and white. What a tragedy to have lost such a talent! I'm always saddened by the news of someone having committed suicide.

    2. What I'm trying to say is this: I realized the importance of family through this film and I strongly recommend you to see it. What about you? Please Introduce me a touching film you've seen and tell me why you recommend it.

    4. I watched this film! It is honey jam movie. Honey jam means making very absorbed. But I'm shocked about that news of suicide of actress in film. She seems gloomy in film but her realism act was just real ? I pray for her. Anyway I recommend 'Ant man' 'Self / less' 'Hit man agency' They are nuclear honey jams.

The Korea Scholastic Ability Test(SAT) 2016 came one day ahead.
Many SAT experts like me are expecting that this test will be easy and normal as usual.
I am expecting the first grade cut line score of type-B math test will be 96 and type-A will be 92.
This article will be a Holy Land.
Last year, the cut score of type-B math test were 100! It was terrible. How could be?
It meant that even single mistake shouldn't be. I don't think that single math question can divide first class and second class correctly.
Mistake can happen to anybody and such test design is inappropriate.
Anyway, the Orion which is snack company will distribute thirty thousand 'free choco pie' at each stations near by examination halls tomorrow.
Consider it, take two for me :)

    1. Robert, as someone from the outside looking in, could you give a complete picture of the test scores so that I can better understand it? Why is this year's cut line different from the past? In other words, give a comprehensive overview of the process and scores and the point you're trying to make. Finally, could you re-write your story using a paragraph format? Thanks!

      Delete
    2. I see. For instance, the perfect score of type-B math test is 100, and the first cut line score of it have been 97,82,89,79,89,92,92,100 in sequence and this year is 96. Because the first grade means high 4 % students of all and levels of difficulty of test have been different each year. Of curse second , third and 9th grades are also exist. However, most popular University or major like us(haha..) needs first grade score to enter. Additionally, in rolling admissions or essay test admissions, many popular universities require total 4 grade sum of three subjects ,native language, math, english or require first grade scores of two subjects. So, right after Korea SAT is over ,every year, without exception, all students wonder what the cut line is and teachers like me predict it for them. Official score distribution is announced after about a month by authorities concerned.

It is very fair that all the students have exact same time to study , however, i still agree with the former opinion since, it's always impossible to evaluate one's ability by test that's only held in once in a year. To improve theses kinds of disorders that our education have , we still need a lot of time to fix it. Indeed, finance would be also a trap for the improvement.
However, our history have proved that time is always inquired to change any one's. We should contemplate for longer time to fix our former education.
There are few options that we have right now. First of all , for the future students fair opportunity , it is required to make education to be distributed to every one for free. Secondly , Private education should be likely to avoided to also make equal opportunity. Lastly investment on education should be increased that as it is mentioned above, people would stop spending money on private education

I respect your opinion. But through 12 years teaching, I found the answer. There is no one who can't study hard because of financial trouble. These days, the qualities of study books are excellent. If someone had full eager to study hard, can do alone easily. Just matter of passion, not private education. And I even suggest more unconstrained education system than now. Fundamentally, the 'equality' means not equal result but equal opportunity.

Nowdays, world governments struggle to enhance the quality of people’s life. They think that obesity is ruining healthy life of people most. They set obesity the first and main problem and have been trying to reduce obesity population. As one of the efforts, the Seoul City is pushing ahead a policy that removing carbonated drink from vending machine. At public facilities, carbonated drinks in vending machine will be gradually eliminated.
This is a big disaster to soda-loving people like me. How can government determine what to drink today? Enjoying carbonated drinks is just taste of consumer. Everyone has right to do things as he or she want if he or she does not make bad influence to other.
Carbonated drink can play a part of obesity, but it is not always be the necessary condition. Also whether removing carbonated drink in vending machine can reduce obesity population is wonder. If who made his or her mind to drink soda, he or she can get it anywhere just not from vending machine at public facilities. Anyway, they will be able to drink soda!
The space of carbonated drinks in vending machine is right of the consumer. What to choose is on consumer. This policy just make consumers troublesome by making tired. It might be able to reduce obesity population. But consumers have right to be respected for our determination.

I am also a soda lover and it is a very inappropriate policy to reduce obesity population. I used to buy soda drinks from the vending machines in public places. If the Seoul City really wanted to reduce the number of obese people, they should have come out with a policy to make people exercise for themselves.

    2. 오은제 (Jennifer, Oh Eun Je) 201434172
I like carbonated drink, too. But I remember hearing about the fact that if someone didn't drink carbonated drink during 5 years, he or she will lose only 5 kilograms. So I think that drink soda is not big and important problems. Therefore, world governments should think about another methods to reduce obesity rates.

      Delete
    3. I’m a big fan of carbonated drinks, too. I drink Coca-cola like every day. What’s funny is that with all the amounts I had, I never bought one from a vending machine at public facilities. For that reason, I think this policy would barely effect on people. Like what you said above, we can just go outside and take a soda whenever we want, even if it’s not in a vending machine at public facilities.

      Delete
    4. When I gain weight, it's usually because I don't do exercise routinely. Carbonated drink is not a major cause of being fat. So I think that this policy is of no use. Government should be make policies that encourage people to exercise, rather than that repress people's taste of eating.

      Delete
    5. I'm also angry about this foolish Seoul city's new law. It's like a removing all of Korea's high school trip because of one high school's big accident. They don't care about the problem's real solution. Just watch small part of problem.civil servant should think twice before they annouce new policy to whole people.

      Delete
    6. I don’t like soda but I agree with you. People have rights to eat what they want. If the Seoul government thinks sugar in soda is the reason of obesity, it should remove vending machine. There is no beverage including sugar except water. Also, although people can’t buy soda from a vending machine, they can go store to buy it. It will affect very little on obesity. So, if the government really worries about obesity, it should make another policy like encourage people to exercise.

      Delete
    7. It is a good news for soda haters like me. I hate carbonated drinks because those things make my throat painful. It is right that consumers have right to be respected for our determination but I think that if that thing is harmful for our body, it is right to eliminate like alcohol and cigaret!

      Delete
    8. Human right has been always main issue of the topic on the world, however there are always for the restriction for the human right. As an example such a country like Holland weed and some other weak drugs are allowed but others are not, I believe that it's because of their high education and the tolerance, so we also need some restriction on our human right when there aren't enough recognition of the education.

      Delete
    9. I can't understand the policy that at public facilities, carbonated drinks in vending machine will be gradually eliminated. Public authorities may limit the freedom and rights of the individual. But limit is required to be at least. Seoul's policy is the excessive restriction on the right to determine the one's privacy.

      @하재준 @박종남
The cause of obesity is excessive intake of food than spending calorie during long time. The food can contain carbonated drinks but it can contain any other food. Carbonated drink is just one of food which has calories. If we eat a lot, any other food can cause obesity even so called healthy food. Carbonated drink is NOT direct cause of obesity.
But alchol, cigaret, and some drugs like weed are direct cause of specific diseases. We know how it cause the diseases certainly. The more we use these things, the higher risk of diseases there is. So using of it is restricted.
It is not related with higher education and more tolerance. It might be because of special favors of non carbonated drink manufacturing company to the mayor of Seoul city. We should do more research about it.

Last October, Korean singer IU represented an album named 'CHAT-SHIRE', not just as a singer of it but also as a producer. With its release, IU got into trouble. It was about a controversy of sexualizing of children. This roughly brought two different conflicting points of view. One saw it as a stretching the meaning of the song and the other saw it as a sexualizing of children. In this heated discussion, IU is being denounced by public as she was in charge of the producer who decides the overall direction and the completion of the album.
There sure is some room for seeing it as a stretching the meaning of the song. But, the important thing is the fact that we shouldn’t be blunt. IU’s song could just be a song that we can let it slide by. However, when it repeats over and over and becomes a culture forming the atmosphere of the society, it could be a serious problem. The culture is powerful. It does have a lot of influence on the society. But when there are no restraints or criticisms on art, it would be hard to achieve a healthy development making art hide in the shield of the freedom of expression.

In my case, I couldn't think of any sexualizing of children when I first saw IU's music video, but after I read about the controversy over her music in facebook, I couldn't ignore the bad sides that people were talking about. Criticisms on art is always needed and is important for develpment but it seemed to me that people were blaming excessively on her music.

      Delete
    2. In my opinion, music include many elements; beat, rhythm, lyrics, expressiveness, and so on. IU gets recognition of many things despite her young age. She is good at everything as a singer, so this album receive much attention because of IU's potential as a producer. Although she proved her ability as a producer, I think she uses her fame inappropriately. She should be careful in her expression.

      Delete
    3. I think the freedom of expression must be guaranteed under the ethics. Though, she never means to make it like that, some might feels disgusting. Ihis indicates its appropriateness for popular music.
Also, victims of child abusing, are tortured by ZEZE’s new interpretation on her music. If she is such a considerate singer, she had to be careful.

      Delete
    4. I agree with you. People who cross the ethical line in music always excuse like " arts is just arts. " In this 'zeze' issue, IU overlook one important thing; her music is supposed to be exposed in front of all people. Whether she did not mean it that way, there must be someone who would be wounded by her lyrics. She'd better apologize for what she did. Her attitude to cope with this issue was a disappointment.

      Delete
    5. I agree that healthy criticism is always needed to part of art. However in this 'IU' case, some people are not criticising, they are just blaming to one person. She already explained and said sorry about all suspicion. They don't want to hear her voice and they just want IU retire at this field. Is this right manner and act? I strongly can't agree with it

I personally like this song. It's rythms are catchy and I thought the lyrics were very fresh. But when the it became a sexual matter I was quite suprised. There are so many thoughts as much as there are humans, and they should be treated equal because every one has the right to express and think. However when it comes to social matter I believe IU has the responsibility to the matter. Both IU and netizens have the right to express, but IU is a celebrity and has a huge power in many areas such as media and culture. Someone who has the power that can change the tide of this society of course has the responsibility. Of course the netizens who criticized IU in very rude way should be punished but IU has to endure it because it started by her actions.

      Delete
    7. @전서연 @문석준 I’m on the same page with you guys about the criticizing people. It sure was IU’s fault. But I think people are especially criticizing on her in comparison to other artists. What do you think about that?

@조준희 @이우주 I also think she should be more careful about her creation. Since she was the most popular singer in our country, it was obvious that it would be heard to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

@김마리아 I also think IU did wrong about the way she dealt with this issue. The song and the fault could just be forgiven. But the way she acted during the controversy was not considerate.

      Delete
    8. @김종민 I see what you mean. I guess IU is having a hard time. It’s a pity that a promising young artist is being criticized. But it’s a necessary process for her becoming a better artist, I believe.

    9. 이후철 201434179

Then, do you think that IU’s song should be banned and restricted? I think, this issue is fired by IU’s anti fans. Most of people didn’t realize sexualizing of children in IU’s music. but by SNS, the offensive article and video made by IU’s anti fans spread out. People should have their own view. It would be helpful to achieve a healthy development of making art.

    11. I also heard of IU's problem. Lot of people said that she has lolita complex. However, in my opinion, it is just a stupid rumor. Because she opened to the public that she was a lover of famous singer Jang Ki Ha. Also she said, "'Zeze'is still my favorite song". At last, she made a complaint to those who spread out rumor. We can see that she is innocent from these imposing actions.

Winter is just around the corner. I like winter because in winter, snow falls.
I have many memories of snow. Last winter, I made a snowman with my sisters and we had a snowball fight. The next day, we all went to school with a fever.
Christmas and my birthday are in winter, too.
Winter is also a sad time because it always brings separation. For example, at school, students split up and enter a new grade in winter. It’s always sad, but it is thrilling, too. Students wonder about who their classmates will be. I always think of the year’s memories. I like this part of the winter.
But there is a bad thing about winter. The ground is very slippery and wet, and if I fall down, I get hurt. And when my father or mother goes outside, I get worried, because slippery roads can be quite dangerous.
What about the other seasons? I want to share good or bad things about seasons with you guys.

I hate winter. In winter, it is very very very… cold! I like going outside but I can not go outside frequently as I did in summer. Because it is cold. When I go out of my house, it feels like slaping all of my body. Next, because of Christmas, I hate it. I have never had a boyfriend on Christmas. I have stayed home alone for no plan. Although I make some plans on Christmas, because of too many people, it is hard to do something. Also, there are couples everywhere on Christmas. Christmas amplifies my loneliness. Winter amplifies my loneliness.

Until a week ago, I liked snow and winter! It makes the landscape great. Last Thursday, however, it snowed heavily that it made a worst traffic jam ever. I took a bus to the school but it took more than 2 hours so I missed the first class. And it makes the roads slippery so I don’t like winter.

  8. Do you believe there is spirit-world? Sometimes there are something that we can’t explain scientifically. Some people think it is because of spirit-world. long ago, many people believed that there are ghosts and they cause illnesses. In addition, shaman could cure a disease. They used many mysterious things. Till now, Some of things remain. I also believe there is spirit-world. There are some reasons that it exist.
First, some people experiences disembodiment(out-of-body). Out-of-body experiences usually happen because of dangerous events, a near-death experience, a dream-like state, or because of alcohol or drugs. Someone experience that they are lying in a hospital bed and suddenly float out of their body. They see what doctors do and someone go to bright place and meet their grandfather, family, or friends. It can’t explain but actually happen.
Second, after people die, they lose their weight(21 gram). Some people believe it as weight of soul and insist that it is evidence about existence of soul, spirit-world. Until now, any scientist don’t prove that. So I also believe it exist.
Finally, many people rely on spiritual thing when they are in critical situation such as near-death. I think it is like a belief of god or religion. Especially, we believe it when we can’t solve problems in any way. People want to solve the problem and try to do but sometimes it does not be solved. So, we pray at a church or bow at the temple. I think it is a reason that people somewhat believe there is god or spirit and get comfort from it.
We don’t know that there is soul or spirit and we can’t prove it in any way. I think it will not be solved. But for those reasons, I believe there is soul and spirit-world, and any people, especially scientists, should not ignore it.

As social medias exerting their influences on the peoples life, K-pop stars and entertainers are becoming role models without distinction of sex or age. Especially, extremely thin legs among girl groups and boy groups make people eating as 'guilt'. Likewise, these trends stepped deeply into our life, many people try to go on a diet even though they are perfectly normal.
However, If you go on a diet improperly, it is very dangerous. Me, as an experienced hand since 13 years old, I know how dangerous it is to just become thin as celebrities. I only tried to be normal because I gained a lot from eating irregularly and overdosing steroids. It was easy to lose sharply increased weight. I lose weight to sustain my healthy life but too many people long for ideal body like Miranda Kerr or any celebrities.
People choose not to eat as one of the methods. However, this way to lose weight only harm one's body. For years, experts have warned against yoyo dieting, saying the practice of repeatedly losing and regaining weight slows metabolism and makes it harder to burn calories. Furthermore, without any muscles, you cannot enhance metabolism and therefore you only get fats.

Or you meant boy group's thin leg stimulate even girl's desire to diet? Anyway..in my opinion, the desire to have attracting body is natural instinct of human. Unless go too far near being obsessed, it is better than being overweight by laziness , isn't it?

But I regained the weight because diet by eating less is not proper. Nowadays, I lose my weight by eating healthy food and weight training. I feel much healthier than before.

When I was middle school student, I went to the Vietnam. This trip is my first foreign trip and I even took a flight first time. I was very excited. This trip is one of my best memory. The best thing that I saw in Vietnam is Ha Long Bay. Ha Long Bay is very popular travel destination, and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bay features thousands of limestone islands in various sizes and shapes. Ha Long Bay is very beautiful. Ha Long Bay is usually foggy, and this feature make Ha Long Bay mystery and solemn. I can’t forget Ha Long Bay. Next thing that I remember is a lot of fruits. Vietnam has very various fruits. Those fruits are hardly seen in Korea, such as, mango, star fruit, sugar cane etc. among those fruits, I especially like mango. Mango that I ate in Vietnam is very different from mango that I ate in Korea. The mango is juicier and sweeter. If I go Vietnam again, I will eat mango every day. Vietnam trip was my favorite trip ever. I want to go Vietnam again. Do you have any special place that you travelled? Tell me about your exprience.

Yeah, I have a special place that I travelled : Between Stockholm & Helsinki - the border area. I travelled Europe alone for 50 days in 2000. From Stockholm to Helsinki I went by ship. I sailed for almost 20 hours. I'll never forget the beautiful view of the sea at night. I felt an urge to jump into the sea. I hope to visit there again someday.

I really enjoyed my trip to Taiwan. There are various food that are delicious and cheap. There are also fruits that are harly seen in Korea. I want to go to Vietnam someday. I heard everything is cheaper than Korea. It would be nice to take rest in a place like Ha Long Bay and have delicious food.

But when I visited the Jeju island, I really felt the trip could make me feel something. I strongly recommend you going to the Jeju Island sometime.

These days, smart phones became part of our lives. Not only the adults but also almost all young children have one. In my opinion, children should not be allowed to have smart phones. They usually play games, and some of them even get addicted to it. According to a research, children spend 2 to 3 hours a day playing smart phone games. Furthermore, some of them even pay money for game items. Children also watch lots of TV dramas, and other entertainment programs like Muhandojun, Running Man, Hidden Singer and so on. It's waste of time.
Also, the smart phone it self is bad for children, because using smart phones can cause harmful influences on their health. For instance, watching smart phone screens for a long time can cause bad sights. The screens of smart phones make bright lights, which are harmful for our eyes. Watching the screens lying in the bed can also be harmful for our eyes. In addition, there is the problem of electromagnetic waves also. Since a smart phone is one of the electrical appliances, it make electromagnetic waves. Scientists say that these electromagnetic waves can cause some diseases, such as cancer. It may be more harmful for children.
What do you think? Do you agree that children should not use smart phones?

I think so, too. Smartphones make children do not hanging around with friends besides him or her. In childhood, it is important to learn not only basic knowledge of various study but also ability of interpersonal relation. By experience of childhood, we can get many knowledge about what is right and wrong, and what is dos and don’ts. But Smartphones are taking precious time to experience these things from children. Smartphone certainly can give help to children, but we need some restrictions.

You've got a point there. Even grown-up people can be easily distracted by smartphone, How can children control to use it. we all know that smartphone have many good points but children are immature so that they don't exactly know limitation. I think adults should set some boundaries for their children so they are not always glued to their phones.

I also agree to your proposal that children should be banned from using smart phones. I think I have moderation power, but sometimes I stay up all through the night playing with smart phones. I think teenagers have a high probability of addiction. So teenagers must use phones without internet functions.

    5. As I had dream to be a teacher, I did think about that many times. Smartphones can disturb children to concenrate to study, but they have some merits. there is a app that parents can see where their childrens are. They can make a phone call to their children with 2G cell phones, but the GPS service is only available to smartphones. You can save your children with this.

I believe we don't have to ban children from using smart phones. In many ways smart phones have disadvantages and sides in terms of studies and parts of our body. But we must think about it's benefits and useful utilities. Today so many parts of our lives are related with smart phones. As our community becomes more digital, areas of smart phone uses are widening. The best example will be Samsung pay released recently. We spend so much time in facebook and instagram. We think its time wasting but fun. But we can also think of it as a online talking ground where many informations exist and where we can make friends. It is not exceptional for children. They make friends, play, get information online. They have the right to express them selves. If we ban children from using smart phones, it will be banning their rights.

That's right. Since children are children, I mean they are immature, so they cannot control theirselves. Nowadays, the number of people rearing pets is rising. In turn, pet-related industry is also growing. Then, what would be the fundamental reason for the increase in pet rearing population? Basically, the answer is that pets are beneficial for people.
First of all, having pets in home is good for the kids. By hanging out with pets, children can intrinsically learn how to communicate with each other. Plus, kids can understand the true meaning of sympathy by heart.
Secondly, even grown-ups are in the need for pets. As society gets more complex, more and more people feel lonely and isolated. Pets always stay with people no matter who they are. So, by having pets in house, people can feel comfort and stability.
Thirds, pets are the best friends for the elderly. They cannot respond as people do, still, they can understand and react to our feelings and talks in their own ways.
Many people often overlook all the good things that pets give to us. They say pets are only for the kids or the depressed. Nevertheless, pets are the real friend of people, no matter how old you are, or who you are. They are always with us and benefit us.
Despite these beneficial reasons, many people afraid of pets. Some might have trauma for pets or allergic to its. Do you rearing animals? What are they? What affect do they give? or If you do not have animals, why do you so?

I totally agree with you. The best part for raising pets is like you said comfort. People are nowadays so busy with their working, studying that can't even make a little time to meet friends. we live isolated life. In this situation, if we had a pet, we could spend our time without lonliness. With a little time to walk and play with them, we could feel a huge stability in our life. Pets are good friends for people.

I agree that pets are companions to all ages of people. They are always there for people and pets listen to whatever they say. I think this would make people feel comfortable more than when they are with any other human. Being with pets makes people's emotions stable and calm and this is what makes me want to live with a pet.

      Delete
    6. I also think that pets give comfort to many people. They get rid of our solitude and greet us wherever we are. However, we have to think a lot before we raise pets. Too many people nowadays abandon their pets if they are not willing to raise them. They are life as well as our human-being's life. It is very cruel behavior to leave them alone. Therefore before raising pets we have to think a lot.

Recently, Korean government tries to enforce the law that the government only compiles Korean history textbook. It means that students must learn Korean history by the only textbook. I desperately oppose the bill!
The History is a study based on past fact and evidence. One affair can be interpreted by various views but the bill infringes various criticism. Then, why does the variety be guaranteed? If the conservatives or the progressives compile the textbook, the book will tend to be one-sided. By extension, if the textbook is related to interests of government tendency, students can be controlled by adults’ interests. And also the value of liberal democracy is invaded when the government power intervene the territory of study. The purpose of making textbook is to educate students rightly. One-sided textbook could never accomplish the purpose, rightly. For instance, at the period of Japanese colonialism, ‘Yoon bong-gil’ killed several Japanese military general. From the point of view of Korea, he was a respectable fighter for independence. And from the point of view of Japan, he was a terrorist. Like this, since the interpretation can be varied, it is wrong that the government only make the history book. I wish the draft bill will be abolished soon.

My trip to Spain was the most fun I had on a summer vacation. I went there with my classmates. It was the most interesting and unusual experience ever. It was so different from Korea. I rode the plane but it didn`t feel too much long. It was probably because I slept during the whole way there. I landed at barcelona, spain. During the couple of days in spain, I toured barcelona, mallorca, sevilla., madrid. I never walked so much in my life. I ate at all the different types of restaurants. I mostly ate the restaurant food such as paella and hot dishes. I ate paella a couple of times while I was there. The food seemed a little expensive compared to korea. When I wasn`t walking, I was mostly riding the train or bus.. Two weeks went by so fast. I was so sad when I have to come back to korea. There`s a saying `Travel more, you can see more`. 19. When I was high school student, my school was famous for strict rules. I thought some rules are improper. One of them was length of hair.
One day, I went to school as usual. Suddenly teacher called me and said, "Your hair is too long. Under the school regulation, hair should be shorter than 30cm. If you don't cut your hair by tomorrow, I will give you a penalty." I hadn't thought about my hair so I was very embarrassed. Nevertheless, I cut my hair to follow the rule. But, after one year, I had the same experience again! I got angry. I was pointed out twice because I didn't do nothing to my hair. it was unfair.
Aim of school regulations is to control the students' actions and behavior, so that regulate students and maintain order in schools. So school regulations should help students to do their duties as students. It's not good that students have interest in their appearance too much to concentrate on studying. So prohibition of having a perm or dyeing is acceptable. However, hair length is different. growing hair is natural. We don't know how long our hair grows per day unless we pay attention to it. Should we concentrate on our appearance to obey the rules?
I think making someone look like a student is not length of hair but neatness. as long as students are well-groomed and do their duties as students, it should not matter how long their hair is. So school regulations about hair length should be abolished.

I had a similar experience when I was in a high school. Even in the winter, studensts couldn't wear any second jacket because it hides a school emblem. It was a school regulation. So students could only wear slim school jacket in a cold winter. I knew that rule but I had a bad cold so there was no choice but to wear a parka. I thought teachers would understand me but they didn't. They said "whatever situation you are in, it's all your fault. You shouldn't have caught a cold." It was totally unfair but what could I do. It was a "school regulation". After that i never wear second jacket in the school during the high school days.

I also have a similar experience about hair length. At that time the school allowed us to grow our hair to 15cm long. But I had long hair over 30cm. But I was disguised to my hair look shorter than it really was. A teacher who was checking our hair length did not notice . The number of students was cut their hair by the teacher . However, many students are breaking the rules just like me . Therefore, it is unequal to regulate hair length . Perm or dye can not get out of this hole . Perm or dye is because even seemingly obvious . So I think that it is better to keep the students ness through a thorough crackdown on perm or dye and uniforms.

      Delete
    5. I really don't understand why they are too strict to students. They think that students are only robots being made to study. On one winter, I was too cold to stand it. So I bought winter jacket to wear on my uniform. Teacher front of the door told me to take off the jacket because it is against the rules of the school. I couldn't understand it. Why do they think jackets for winter hinder the studies of the students?

      Delete
    6. My middle school had a same rules. We had a strict hair rules, and we had to have our hairs a 'sports'style. I didn't know why we should do that and teachers just say it's for our educational reason. I think going to the barber once a month can be more distracting for my educational environment but I was very obdient that time and said nothing about that. I think schools should think what's best for students after asking them first. I'm not saying schools should do everything what students want but should 'consider' it deeply.

      Delete
    7. To. 조평근
That's really unfair! Catching a cold is not your fault. We can't control diseases. I think students' health is more important than regulation of students. School should allow students to wear another jacket or make school jacket thicker so that students can endure cold.

      To. 김다은
What a fun story! How did you disguise your hair look shorter? I want to know it. Anyway I am of the same opinion. Perm or dye can look different with other students. So it can be regulated. But regulation of hair length is unequal. It has to be abolished.

      To. 박현서
You are right. As you said, students are not robots they are same people like teachers and others. We go to school to learn something that helps our lives not to be machine solving questions. It's contradiction that they expect blind obedience to students while teaching them resisting unfair pressure.

      To. 임진규
I agree with you. Worrying about my hair breaks the rule or not is more distracting for my educational environment. Also if schools do everything what students want, they can't maintain order in schools. But they should consider it deeply that the rule is really need for students and schools. If the regulations are unfair, they should revise or remove them.

Yesterday, I went to a movie theater near my home. I watched my favorite movie, "Hunger Games : the Final". When I was young, I did not have any interest about governments, social policies and lots of absurdities in our society. However, nowadays, I grew up a lot and started to be interested in those things. In this movie, 'Katniss Everdeen' tries to revolutionize her country, 'Panem', because every year, 'Snow', president of 'Panem', opens games called 'Hunger Games' to rule his country. Those games are very brutal and scary massacres. In those games, players are the chosen couples from 12 different districts in 'Panem' and they must kill each other to survive. 'Katniss' volunteered because her sister was chosen and she wanted to go instead of her sister. Although 'Snow' tried to kill her many times, she survived from two hunger games, and she became a symbol of revolutionary army. 'Coin', president of revolutionary army, used 'Katniss' to boost morale and finally became president of 'Panem'. However, she suggested to 'Katniss' that hunger game must be done to make good country. So 'Katniss' killed 'Coin' and went back to her home with her partner, 'Pita', and sustained happy life with him.
I became a big fan of movies about revolution after watching "Hunger Games" because I often think about how it would be if students, who are majoring Korean medicine in Gachon university, rise in revolt against Ms. Lee Gil Yeo to gain our hospital.
I really respect 'Katniss' for her braveness. I want to find movies similar with this movie. Do you guys know other wonderful movies about revolution?

The people who I met, the event that I did and the feelings that I had were reminded. I looked back on the past. Sometimes I felt sad, sometimes I felt frustrated, foolish and gloomy. But I am here and I lived now. Now I can consider bad memories as good things. They made me. They are all just me. I thought the poem, O me O life, written by Walt Whitman. He says ‘The question, O me! so sad, recurring- What good amid these, O me O life? Answer. That you are here- that life exists and identity, That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute it.’ I agree on him, Life is powerful play and we contribute them. I am playing my life and I don’t know my next words, actions and directions. But I am sure that there will be many Act and chapter and I am sure that I should not be afraid of them and enjoy them.

Sometimes, I recall my past memories with my hometown. That are my dreams which could not be realized, goals which I could not get done. I miss my life which is younger than now. But I have not been able to have a chance to find my past trace, again. If I visit there, I think that I feel ashamed of myself, pitiful about myself and afraid of not knowing that time (but now I know by experience of that time). So I am scared of finding my past trace. I think you are so brave to face to face with your past. This winter vacation, I am planning to have a trip to look for my past trace. After that, I want to be more confident with my life and not be afraid of future.

    2. Wow, the poem gives me a strong intension! The present ‘I’ consist of the past ‘I’. Sometimes I deny the past I. All of us have several bad memories and want to be forget them from my brain. I struggle to develop myself more than the past. In order to develop myself, at first I accept the past ‘I’. When I accept that, at last I can grow up and enjoy my present life.

This late autumn, in September, I went Thailand without friends, family or anybody else. I planned this trip last year from winter vacation. My surroundings like friends worried about going solo trip especially woman alone. There were many reasons my friends were concerned about me. First, they knew that I can't speak Thai. So they thought I can't even eat meals because of language. But I could eat very delicious and new local food. Although all cooking I ate was not suit my taste, I was mostly satisfied with the cuisine. Second, a few days ago my trip schedule, there were bomb terrorism incidents. I was anxious for my welfare, too. But I always think if I scared something, I will not be able to do anything. The last of these reasons was sexual violence. Because sole woman has high probability of sexual violence rather than two women. So I searched information about Thai public peace. I was amazed at Thai public peace. Thailand's public peace is better than our public peace. After this trip, I can realized that if there were enough information or search, solo trips could be good things as much as journey with my friends or family.

Wow, did you go to Thailand without anybody else? How brave you are!! I have never been alone when I was traveling abroad. However, many of my friends recommended to go on a trip alone. They told me that I go by myself, I could experience and learn more. What did you learn from your last trip to Thailand?

    2. I just applaud your braveness and challenge spirit! Traveling is worthy living through. :) I always wish to go journey alone, though parents never permit me by safety problems. After traveling alone, you may have larger perspective on seeing the world. I hope you had enjoyed in Thailand and I recommend you to go LAOS someday!

    3. While you enjoyed your first solo ttrip, I enjoyed my toilet lunch with tears. Haha. I'm just kidding. At that time that you decided to go on a travel without anyone including me, I thought that SOON you would ask me to go Thailand with you. So I prepared money to go there, though you never did ask me to do so! I was the one who really worried about how dangerous it would be without anyone. But after knowing that you prepared perfectly for your first trip on Thai, I was even kind of proud of you, thinking that you must be maturer through this experience!

Terry I could learn many things during trip. In Thailand,I heard that Thailand's people earn money far less than our country. Although they can not earn much money, their happiness rate is much higher than us. They are satisfied with their life and money. So I decide to be happy with what I have and do now.
우주, Thank you for your recommendation! My mother were also very worried about my solo trip and even told me not to go alone. But I showed my plans and told my accommodation's phone number in Thailand. Then she allowed me to go abroad alone. I recommend you this method.
Maria, I come up with a proverb after reading your comment. "Don't count your chickens before they are hatched" Haha. Next time, I will propose trip to go abroad. Sorry for eating lunch without me when I was on trip. I want to go Amsterdam with you because I heard that there are many handsome and beautiful people.
재성, Because you are a tall and healthy man, you can go solo trip safely. When I was on trip, I wanted to be a man. Because of my fear, I couldn't go outside to watch Thailand's landscape and tourist attractions. You will be able to have good experiences

Recently lots of funny ads came out in Korea. I think ads with humor become a general trend in our country. For an advertiser, the most important question is: How can I get more attention to my product? or How can I impress my product on people's mind? The easiest way is to make their advertisements funny. There is no one who don't like funny things. Even though people don't like watching advertisements in TV, but funny ads make them watch those without changing the channel.
There are lots of funny advertisements around us. Some advertisements of the herbal tea company were very popular in our society few months ago. Some internet users even found that advertisement for themselves. This advertisement gained more popularity on the web. Actors got slapped in the face absurdly in the advertisement. That situation in the advertisement was so hilarious. Actors in this advertisement got slapped much more times and stronger. Hilarious situation in this advertisement make people funny and get more interest of consumers. According to that company, the sales of that herbal tea were increased. The new advertisement got more interest and helpedsales. This succession case of the advertisement can encourage other advertisers to make their advertisement funny. They get to know that funny advertisements attract attention.

Volunteering may be very rewarding. We don't get monetary rewards for that, but emotional rewards. Since I like to go volunteering I was recommended as a student manger of one volunteering center for multi-cultural families. People ask me "Don't you get tired if you go there periodically?" or "Why do you do so many volunteering?" and jokes about "If you get paid for your volunteering time you can get enough money for your tuition".
First of all I get very tired since I'm a human not a robot. Although I always have to smile, I can be physically sick or emotionally hurt. If something I planned don't go the way I have thought I get frustrated. But I like volunteering. I like helping others and along with that I can meet variety of people. I can listen to many stories of their lives. Also I like the children there although they don't listen to my words. One thing I realized is even if we have different cultures, people have something in common. For example, parents worry about their children's education and children like what korean children like. How about you? Have you volunteered or are you volunteering at somewhere? And have you learned something during that? I like to hear it.

When I was scrolling down my facebook pages I came across a very interesting post. It was about a armed protest that occurred recently at downtown seoul where protesters damaged government properties and police used water cannons to protesters. The post was literally saying that it was wrong to use the water cannons against citizens. However I believe the police made the most adequate move in that situation. At first it was a calm and legal protest but suddenly protesters crossed the police line and turned calm and legal to illegal and armed. Police following their manual did what they have to do to maintain control of the protest and by law they are allowed to use water cannons if necessary. Since there were stones, pipes and even bamboo spears flying between the two, for the sake of other citizen's safety it was a necessary to bring an end to these actions. Actually there were people who were not involved in the protest that got hurt because of those rocks. Roles of police in the society are to maintain public order and protect citizens. The process to do so may be violent if necessary. Of course violence can’t be justified in any situations, but as a publicly recognized government authority I believe the police should be allowed to have counter measures which can be violent.

Another name of 'Democracy' is 'Constitutionalism' I believe. If we broke constitutionalism and law, the ultimate victim must be us. Frankly, is there relation of Breaking police bus and expressing opinion? Are that police in army duty also just one precious son of normal family? They just obey the orders.
And there are much more 'majority with no speak' than people in protest square. Even though wrong using water cannons and protesters violence happens, we have agreed that only nation have a monopoly of violence since civilized at every county in the world. I want to ask to protesters in square " You are civilians. But you really want to demolish civil law? "

That is exactly what I'm saying. People ask for freedom and rights, but they break the law and violate other people's peace and right is not right. These people must know how selfish their actions are and that by breaking the law, other people are getting hurt.

    3. I agree to your point that police did the action according to the law. When situation got so violent it is right thing for police to put down the situation. However, we should be careful of one sided thinking. What do you think about recent protest that ended peacefully. In that protest, police did not use their police bus to make a wall to block the protesters and the protest went peacefully.

Nowadays people around the world was shocked by the Paris terrorist attack. A few days ago, a hostage situation of Al Qaeda linked forces were in a hotel in Mali. Countless innocent people in Paris and Mali were sacrificed. The UN Security Council passed resolution to repulse IS. Russia military keep bombing the base of IS, and France also sent an aircraft carrier. Thus the international situation is urgent. However, Korea seems to be far away from the war against terrorism yet. South Korea is the country really safe from terrorism? The Indonesians have been arrested a few days ago. He posted a video carrying a flag of a terrorist group called Al nusra flag in the Bukhan mountain , and continuously posted articles praising the terrorist organization in the SNS. In addition, in October, the terrorist organization that suspected to have attacked Mali threatened to blow up the COEX. IS has categorized South Korea as a nation to attack.
But South Korea has accommodated Syrian refugees without in-depth examination. Extending of their staying period also does not going through any special examination. And more than 200 Syrian refugees entered South Korea in just this year. Whether a terrorist included or not is questionable. In Paris terrorist attack, some of the terrorists had disguised as Syrian refugees.
Of course, I think the original Islam is different from Islamic extremist groups. The majority of Muslims are innocent. It is also not to ignore the situation of Syrian refugees desperate enough to come to the faraway land of Korea. However, when you accept them, they must go through a thorough identity verification process and review process. It will reduce the bias against Muslims living in Korea. And everyone can escape from vague anxiety about terrorism. In addition, the government should enhance the security of public places, and should expand its counter-terrorism personnel. If necessary, the security authorities must ensure the fingerprints of foreigners who want to arrive in Korea. That might allow to quickly arrest terrorist when foreign terrorists attack. Finally, the security authorities must closely monitor for Koreans express their support to a terrorist organization. Terrorists can exist regardless of nationality.

I agree that government should take procedures when accomodating refugees. Even if IS didn’t exist, examinations should take place because of national security. Accomodating refugees or even travelers without procedures is like letting some one I don’t know come into my house, with any knowledge of he or she. I just can’t agree with the government policy. Drug cartels, gangsters, etc can flow into Korea and do something dangerous too. We need to know who are arriving in Korea. Freedom comes from security.

Recently, I heard a different view on dangun myth. I’ll tell you about the myth for those of you don’t know the story.
Dangun's ancestry legend begins with his grandfather Hwanin, the "Lord of Heaven". Hwanin had a son, Hwanung, who wanted to live on the earth. Hwanin permitted Hwanung and 3,000 followers to descend onto Paektu Mountain. Then, a tiger and a bear prayed to Hwanung to become human. Upon hearing their prayers, Hwanung gave them 20 cloves of garlic and a bundle of mugwort, ordering them to eat only these and remain out of the sunlight for 100 days. The tiger gave up after about twenty days and left the cave. However, the bear persevered and was transformed into a woman. The bear-woman (woongnyeo) got married to Hwanung and soon she gave birth to a son named Dangun, who is known as progenitor of the Korean race.
Most people say that the bear and the tiger represents two tribes that worshipped animals and they focus on finding historical truths from the story. However, think in this way. The tiger was treated unfairly from the beginning because bears are omnivorous that can live by eating vegetables but tigers are carnivorous. What do you think about this unfair competition and what other stories do you know that can be interpreted from a different viewpoint?

LOL I never thought of this story as an omnivorous versus a carnivorous, and I think your point of view is very interesting. If you think of it that way it might seem unfair. I heard that garlic removes a beast's nature in that myth and I assume that to become a human it must have been really important to get rid of that beast's nature. So I'm guessing it was not a discrimination on purpose.

      Delete
    2. It's really interesting view. I agree that it was kind of unfair competition. However if we comprehend this as a realistic view, Hwanung doesn't have any duty to make this competition fair. I mean he is Lord of heaven's son, and giving opportunity is alreay done his job. He can't consider all different points and it's tiger's job.It seems sad news to tiger, it was unlucky to him. But it's not Hwanung's fault.

LOL That is interesting view. I never heard it before. By the way, I think that Dangun myth is the story that is parent’s way of teaching children. Young children don't like garlic and mugwort. But they are good for health. So parent made Dangun myth to make their children eat garlic and mugwort.

전서연/ Actually, I read this story from a Naver webtoon (not my original idea). In that way, to remove beasts’ nature, eating garlic and mugwort would be very important to become a human. I also think that Hwanung didn’t mean to make any discrimination as a mediator of this critical competition.

문석준/ Lol, it sounds somewhat cruel. He was generous enough to give both of them an opportunity to become a human, indeed. He had no need to make the competition without fault. If this story happened today, the bear could be deprived of the opportunity to be in the competition by complaining it.

이후철/ I really like your idea! I never thought that parents may have made this story to teach their child. It sounds similar to the Popeye’s story that parent tell their child to make them eat spinach. It is very interesting that different ideas can come out from a same story.

Did you know that there is a rent-a-dog service for those who want to be with a dog but cannot raise him for some reasons? This service provides dog lovers, who find it hard to own a dog because of a busy work schedule or some other reasons, delightful chances to borrow a dog. There are some pros and cons about renting a dog. People, who are against this service, concern that it may affect negative effects to the dogs’ emotional well-being when the dogs are rented out to different people. They also say that this renting service gives dogs excessive stress and they even say that this service is an animal abuse. However, I think that this cannot be an animal abuse because of the following reasons. There are many rent-a-dog services and some of them are lending abandoned dogs. The goal of this service is to let the dogs to be adopted by one of the borrowers. I think that this goal is based on love for dogs, and the purpose of this service is good. Also, people, who want to raise a dog, buy a dog in a rush without thinking and realize that they are not in a situation to spend much time with him and finally abandon him. It is better to rent a dog when a person needs him rather than this irresponsible behavior. This rent-a-dog service is reasonable and may contribute to a decrease in the number of abandoned dogs. In addition, some rent-a-dog services help dog owners who want to travel far away from home. They give dogs a new shelter and a new sitter who can take care of them while the owner is gone for a trip. Due to the reasons above, I support this service and wish that this service spreads widely.

As you say, it have some merits. But I think this service is another form of abandonment. It seems to make abandonment easier, legal and feel less guilty. When does the borrower return the lent dog? Returning dog means being thrown away again. We can return the dog rather than abandoning dog without guilty. Dog is life. It can not be treated like a book. I think this service should be reconsidered.

I see how you think of this service but I don't think returning is abandoning again. I think renting means taking care of them for a while when nobody is there to care for. The final goal of this service is to make abandoned dogs adopted, so as far as this goal is pursued I'd say this service should keep going. And when we oppose this service just because a dog is a life and cannot be treated like a thing, all the behaviors we do to animals, even worse things like experimenting with animals, should be reconsidered.

I think that this rental is not a bad idea . Similar to the service , there is the therapy dog service. Therapy dogs meet many patients and take care of their body and mind. The dogs make close relationships with patients but when the treatment is finished, they go back to where they lived. Nobody raises an ethical problem for the dog services. it is because of the purpose of this is good . I think when the doggy rental service has good purpose and many benefit, it can be ethically correct.

Today I'm going to talk about ‘Bad manners’. In Korea, there're two kind of bad manners. First, I want to talk about students in the classroom. I think the most important and biggest bad manners for students in the classroom are playing cellphone game or messenger. It can interfere with the lecture. Almost every students might have a memory about ringing cellphone in classroom. It can not only make cellphone owner embarrassed but also stop the class. The lecture will lose tension and this is able to make all people feel bad. And also playing cellphone game or messenger is rude to the professor. This is classic etiquette. I have experience that teach young students. Students usually think teacher or professor will not know what they’re doing. But they can know what they’re doing and we should keep etiquette to them.
Second, it's about eating with family or friends. Coughing in front of table is one of bad manners. Because if someone coughs, everyone think it’s dirty and when the cough sound is very loud, it makes noise. So when you cough, you should cup your hand to your mouth and turn your head at side of table, because this behavior defenses to make the table dirty and the noise decrease than coughing straight and reveal you mouth. I just talk about two kinds of manners, but we should do perfect in any kind or manners not only about classroom or dinning room.

    1. we usually experience this kind of things. I think it is because of egoism. Korea is one of the most busy country. All people want to do something without any difficulties, and don't care other people's feeling. But it cannot be tolerated just because we are busy. we should change our mind and make Korea better place to live.

I agree with you. But I think being late for class is also bad manners students should not do. If students enter the classroom after fixed time, the noise made by opening a door can disturb other friends and professors. So I don't like to be late for school and even arrive at school at least 10 minutes earlier.

Yeah, there are many kinds of bad manners. And I think todays korean civic consciousness is getting lower. The reason of this is , living in korea is getting harder and harder. I think we have to consider other person.
What do you think we should do to remove bad manners?

    4. 김태형(Terry, 201434164)
Yes, I agree with you. Texting while a teacher is giving us lectures is one of completely bad manners. Even though, lots of students, including us, still do something with their smart phones during classes. I think we should not use smart phones in classrooms. What do you think about not using phones in classrooms?

      Delete
    5. I agree with that too. Although I have shown bad manners sometimes at class(texting or doing other things), I know that it was a bad thing to do. But I want to hear somethings to you. What if it's an emergency call or something important? I sometimes hesitate to get a call from work during class. What if it's something I have to know at 'that' moment?

      Delete
    6. 준희- I also think it's true.I agree with Korea is one of the most busiest country. But such bad manners can't be tolerate because of this reason.Human always have to get ability to decide and act what is right or wrong
은제- Being late for class is kind of bad manner. But in this case, there're some kind of rule. For example some professor give absent if students are late more than 15 minutes.Or they memorize it and give it to grade.Of course without this method, students should consider it always and come right time
성렬- I think people should know they're doing wrong. Some people even can't realize they're doing wrong. After this, we should connect it to real act. This is really hard time and live always as a good man is almost impossible. But that effort make society healthy.
태형- I don't agree with not using cell phone in class. It's not a high school and if we consider what is wrong, using small kind of cell phone is okay. We can use it as dictionary or question and emergency calling is also important to recieve.
진규- That's why I think ban using cel phone is not right. Everypeople have their own thought and problem. They should have ability to use cell phone correct time and then use it small time is fine I think

"I just don’t have enough time.” We’ve all said it before. We say “I don’t have time” when life gets busy or when we don’t want to feel guilty about skipping something. Starting today, you are no longer allowed to utter the words: “I don’t have time.” Instead, you will say, “It’s not a priority.”
“I don’t have time to travel” becomes “traveling isn’t a priority.“ Suddenly, the excuse of time becomes an incredibly weak argument. “It’s not what we say is a priority, but what we actually DO that’s a priority.” How you choose to spend your time defines your priorities. I spent all of 2015 telling myself that I wanted to learn Chinese, but I never seem to find the time. It wasn’t because I didn’t have enough time, it’s because I never made learning Chinese a priority! What are your priorities? This is very important. We have 168 hours in a week. Time is our most precious resource. Your priorities, whether you say so or not, are where you choose to spend those hours. Make the most of them! It’s amazing how much time you can find when you minimize the things that aren’t important to make room for the things that are. It’s not what you say that’s important to you, it’s what you DO that’s important to you. I challenge you, starting today, to erase the phrase “I don’t have time” from your vocabulary. Instead, say “it’s not a priority.” And then decide what you actually want your priorities to be. Leave a comment with ONE thing you’ve been saying is a priority but hasn’t really been, and ONE step you’re going to take today to make that thing a real priority.

I am impressed by your letter. I always said that I want to live a civilized life like watching movies or reading books. But what I did is nothing about cultural things. So I decided to do anything what I said. I watched many movies which are on this month. I watched 극적인 하룻밤, 내부자들, 괴물의 아이, 검은 사제들, 007 스펙터. I am satisfied with doing things what I said. I will also go to the theater to watch movie today.

    2. I agree your thinking. When my parents visit my house, they say “What a terrible house.” Then, I always make an excuse for that I don’t have enough time to clean my house. Both parents and I know that it was just an ‘excuse’. If I have a little care for that, I’ll keep my house clean.

    3. I agree with you. In any cases "There was no time to do that". can't be any excuses. In any relation, between parents, friends and even other people who you don't know. It makes people annoying and it even leads to fights. Therefore, If you think you don't have any time to do something for anyone else, you have to do it ahead before you don't have time.

    4. yeah, I think it's a lesson for me. Nowadays, I've said it so many times. when my mom let me clean my rooms,I told her "I don't have enough time..", But it was not a time-related problem but a priority-related problem. However we are very busy, we have time to do it.. So I was determinded to tell someone "I don't have time". Thank you for your impressive lesson.

    5. I am grateful for your comments. Of course, I admit the fact that we are busy during the school year. But winter break is coming soon. So you will have a lot of hours. I hope to be able to do all the thing you wanted to, regardless of the priority. And after the winter break, I want to hear what happened to you during your vacation. Doing well during winter vacation!!

Do you know a korean movie named “Naebujadeul” which has released few days ago? The title Naebujadeul means insiders. As you can assume from the title it is a movie about insiders try to disclose the corruption of powerful people. It may sound dull and too obvious in that good but weak hero fighting with powerful evil group that willing to keep their secret. The hero might get into trouble but eventually justice wins and bad guys get punished. The movie “Naebujadeul” is not that different from this stereotypical structure. Nevertheless, it is fun. I was very satisfied after watching this movie. There are several points that make this movie fun. First, the good heroes are not that good. They use bad word a lot, lie to others in order to achieve their goal, and they even use violence. Such bad trait of good heroes gave me pleasure in that they are not predictable. Secondly, the actors performed very well in the movie. Especially Lee Byung-hun’s performance as a macho but little bit silly gangster was very impressive. Also Jo Seung-woo’s performance as tough prosecutor was awesome too. They doubled the fun of the movie. Lastly, the movie’s storyline was good. Until the last fifteen minutes I thought that the movie was going to have sad ending. However, it showed amazing ending and that made me more satisfied. If you have not seen the movie “Naebujadeul” I strongly recommend you to watch it. It would be fun.

Yeah, I would like to watch the film strongly. Nowadays I heard about the film so many times. Especially I concerned about B.H.Lee's acting in the film. I heard his acting is romantic & succesful and the character he creates is very weird & unique. Is it really? I wanna check it as soon as possible.

I watched "Naebujadeul" few days ago, and I really enjoyed that movie too because there were lots of twists in the plot. Jo Seung-woo repeats 'Justice wins!' a lot and I trusted that he was a good guy. But almost at the end he cooperated with the powerful evil group, and I thought that they were all part of the same. But at the end it turned out that he was faking like he's the same bad guy. I was in thrill that Jo Seung-woo and Lee Byung-hun defeated those evil group at the end. I want to watch this movie again!

I also watched 'Nabujadeul' yesterday. The movie was fast, exciting and had a reverse. I think 'Lee Byung-hyun' and 'Jo seung-woo's acting is mad. They perfomanced ganster and prosecuter perfectly.
Watching the film, I thought, the political world is very dirty. I recommend other friends to see this movie.

    4. I also know that movie. I would like to watch it! But I have no time because I didn't study for final exams. Hearding about that movie, Byung-hun is very impressive. I think he is very bad guy. But we cannot help appreciating him as actor. Anyway, when final-exams end, I am going to watch "Naebujadeul".

  40. Before my country, ROK(Republic of Korea), and also before Japanese imperialism's brutal occupation, there was a kingdom whose name was Chosun. And there was a medicine - or poison - not to cure people but to kill people. Its name was Sa-yak. In Korean 'Sa' means death but in this Sa-yak's case 'Sa' meant 'Given by the king'. Yak means medicine - or poison. So Sa-yak is poison given by the king.

Sa-yak is very interesting theme both in area of history and medicine. Historically, it killed so many famous characters through 500 years of Chosun's history. In area of medicine, it is not a real poison. In fact, Sa-yak's ingredients are not poison itself but delicate combination of strong medicines makes people die. Department of king's doctor superintended this mysterious medicine but the recipe was a top secret so its specific ingredients are not known by anyone so far.

In history, there are some clues we can suppose what was in Sa-yak. In some unofficial history book, after drinking of Sa-yak, the person's body temperature went high and all the metabolism was rapidly boosted to die. So we can suppose that Sa-yak was contained an aconite, a monkshood, an arsenic poison or mercury. In the view of Korean medicine, all those ingredients contains enormous heat(commonly heat our body to make it better) so overdose of these things can kill people from inside.

One interesting factor of Sa-yak is that this was very decent death to people under sentence of death. This punishment was only for aristocrats who committed huge crime enough to die. It was official poison given by government - king. It's very rare to use poison officially because in many other countries poison was a way of assassination. Chosun was hierarchical society so death penalty conducted by executioners who were the lowest class was dishonor for nobles. So they invented noble way to die - Sa-yak, a poison given generously by the king. It was real honor from king so those who drank Sa-yak had to bow to the direction where was supposed that there was a king.

How can the elementary and middle school students live apart from their parents for studying abroad? Speaking foreign language is a desirable skill, but they need parent’s love first. Living in a separate house is lonely. Although students can learn languages effortlessly in foreign countries, Studying abroad early could bring about unwanted outcomes, depending on the student’s age, length of stay and the place where she is staying.
The children are often scared and homesick abroad. A student who lives with her family does not need to feel loneliness. The other students who do not live with their family are suffering from depression because of lonesomeness. It hurts children’s emotional development to study abroad at too young of an age.
Studying cost in abroad is too expensive. Many people think that they just need to live in another country and they will learn the local language, but these days, because of the internet and other information technology, it is much easier to study English. Why study in a foreign country living apart from their family. If students study hard and continuously in Korea, it is possible to speak English like a native speaker.
Excessive educational zeal is not only bad for children but also parents. Studying abroad has become popular with parents who want the best for their child. Many elementary, middle and high school students are living outside Korea with their mothers, leaving as many fathers at home toiling to cover their expenses in a situation that the result sometimes develops into a serious family breakup. Over-motivated, overachieving parents should downgrade their ambition.
Living outside Korea to learn foreign language in early age is not a good idea. Feeling a homesick which can hurt emotional growth, expensive cost to send children abroad, broken family with high education fever are all bad effects of studying abroad. It can lead gloomy result to both children and parents. In conclusion, it is not always necessary to send children abroad.

  42. Smartphone has lots of functions. With the smartphone, you can easily get the information you want anywhere and anytime. In addition to this, more advantages including entertainment are useful for people.
At the sametime in Korea, high access to internet and rapid spread of smartphones lead to serious problems such as "behavioral addiction", smartphone addiction. Recently, the concept of addiction is beyond the concept of drug addiction or substance addicted to gambling, internet, gaming, addiction concept is spreading to the act leading to the smartphone according to a research targeted to smartphone users, more than 10% of the users are addicted to the device. The severity of the problem is getting bigger these days.
The problem of smartphone addiction appears in the various fields. First problem is that it is harmful to the body both physically and mentally. Looking closely at the screen in the dark is harmful to eyes. In addition to negative effects on health, it can cause turtle neck syndrome or sleep disorders. Besides physical effects, smartphone addiction results in emotional instability. You get emotionally/mentally unstable if you don't have smartphone with you, It is frequently observed among heavy users.
The second problem is the absence of communication in daily life. We always have our eyes fixed to smartphone screens. Because of excessive use in cybermedia, the number of the face-to-face communication between people is strikingly decreasing these days. Due to absence of offline conversations, people are having difficulty in talking in the real life.
I do not want to blame users not do I think that this addiction is a disease. What I want to talk about is "us". This is us. We know it is bad thing. Above all we don't need no feeling, no warmth and non-human machine. We need direct face to face exchange between people and importance of conversations over the day-to-day relationship. It is most needed addiction prevention. What I want to say is mental health should be happy life.

  43. You would know this words that life isn't about speed but directrion. There is my story about that.
A few days ago, there was a korea SAT
I took the test several times. In the first test, I got poor grades to enter this college.
After the test I started to study again to enter a college of korean medicine. But I failed on the test but I tried again and failed, tried again and failed again. I could not give up for some reasons. I felt there is no hope. I also had a burden to serve in the army without having done any courses in college. But my parents encouraged me to try it once again. Eventually I could be here last year. There were lots of different events and issues happening, but I could actually reach the goal I’ve always wanted to. Through those years, I had got a lesson that Life isn’t about speed but direction. Compare to my friends, I am far behind them. But I am satisfied by myself studying what I am really interested in. I am truly happy now. I think this is why I could come to school with a joyful heart.
Whenever I am anxious about my future, I am reminded of that words. "Life isn't about speed but direction."

I also ruined in first test, which makes me to sympathize with your words.
I agree with you. Direction is more important than speed. As we can live only once, I believe doing what I truly want to is completely priceless.

You passed thorugh a very hard time and I give respect for you!

    3. I really admire your passion. Although I enter this college at one go, my SAT score was terrible. Fortunately I got through Korean medicine college entrance exam, but I didn’t have the bravery to retry the SAT. It is entitled to all respect that you try to achieve your dearest goal.

    4. I went through the similar experience like yours. I re-took the exam three times. However I had no particular goals to go into this collage. I just aimed for highest universities because it would make up for my broken pride. The reason I think you could overcome it despite repeated fails is that you had a defite goal for your future. You wanted to be korean medcine doctor so much so that your goal drove you into this collage.
